Black sand will definetly make them darken up. I have found tan sand brings out their best colors. Imo

I think it's 48". 1 bulbous that came with the tank when I bought it. Should I get some led?

you do have more then one type of Geo. The only Geo you can have live plants with are ram's.

Maybe just replace the bulb and see how it looks. Try Power Glo bulb.

So far I can see 3 type you Geo you have in the tank. Surinamensis and Red head Tapajos on Pic 2 and Gymnogenys ( the one have black strip cross over their eye) Surinamensis Pic 1 and the are look very nice . I would do white or tang sand, It will pop out their color more than black sand.

Thanks guys, I guess no plants then. Probably stop by homedepot and grab some filter sand and it will be brighter.

Anyone knows where can I get silica sand? I've heard that this sand is nice in aquariums. Thanks

Most local pet stores will carry a silica based sand. I would just go with PFS (Pool filter sand) its cheap and easy to get.
