During that petsmart sale, i bought 3x ac 70s and 6x penguin 350s to use. The penguins have always been my favorite hob but decided to try an aquaclear.

Anyone notice how they're no longer hagen aquaclear but now fluval? The first one i hooked up, completely died on me the next day. Just hooked up my second one to see how it does. Normally when good equipment goes through a company change, the quality drops. Anyone else having issues?

I have had issues but always user error on my end. Gotta make sure the u tube is sitting in correctly. And always good to prime it with a few cups of water

Yeah, the pump was just dead for me. I even took it off the filter, submerged it and nothing. This second one seems to be okay so far. The suction is real weak on these things. My penguins will still run with tank half empty.

I have about 7 AC filters on some of my tanks. They are okay so far except that the motor get dirty pretty quick and get hangup sometimes. I have to remove the motor and clean it really well maybe once a month.

Never had any issues with my ACs. Now the marinelands.. that's a-whole-nother story. I like the ACs because they force the water through from bottom to top, plus you can adjust the flow rate

Just hooked up my second AC70 the other day. 3 days later that pump died on me. Same deal, even take off the pump and submerge it, nothing

You got a bad batch. I have five. Three are running with no issues. Two unopened that will soon be in use. So far so good.

Ahh well, ill just return these guys. Still curious on how they'll last in the long run since the company change. The company change that happened to maxijets was brutal in terms of quality

The aquaclears have been fluval for quite some time now. I've never had a problem with the fluval ones so far
