Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Having seen your tank in person you have the depth to your advantage. Right now there is no sense of depth and that is easily accomplished in your tank with the rocks being the only limiting factor if any.
To bring what Navarro said into play look at it from the corners and make if seem as though that is your viewing point. Stake the rocks so that it pleases the eye. Set your main stone/pile and have your supposrting stones or surrounding stones compliment it. Don't pile them to take away from your focal point/main rock/pile.
This should be done viewing from the right corner since you have the overflow you want out of the picture. Whatever you have left set it to the right side in "mirror" of the left but smaller of course and that will cover the output yu have on the tank bottom.
You could also factor in the HQI's too since the shimmering beam will give the rock placement that added depth effect.
If you go with the "golden ratio" it would really set off your tank.
If you aren't insulted by my post I would love to give scaping your tank a try! I'm no Navarro but I love working at my skills!
Man, you got Navarro to your place now you gotta get him to work for you!
