fruit for dinner?

    fruit for dinner?

    Anyone ever fed their fish fruitflies?  if so, what kind of fish and which kind of fruitfly?

    I've got an excess amount of them (the flightless variety), not enuf frogs to eat them all, and have heard of people feeding them to their fish.  I know my killies would probably go for it don't know what others would like them.

    I just thought I'd ask if anyone had done it and what were the results (negative, positive, etc) before I took a chance on my fishies...

    Depends on what was in the culture....I always wanted to get an archer for a pauladrium or something.

    My convicts eat all sorts of bugs....when I got smoke outside sometimes we have bugs that wait at the door....mosquito hawks and the like....I feed those to the convicts and they are still healthy looking.

      My fly cultures are nearly the same as for the other worms i feed my fry.  Oatmeal, banana, yeast, dry baby cereal...  I have one fruitfly batch tho that I used potato flakes and apples instead.  The only extra is a tad of vinegar to ward off mold.

          I was going to say the same as Nacra :)  I used to feed Betta's wingless fruit flies.

              I fed my fish one of the misquito hawks it was funny seeing the legs hanging out the side of its mouth while it at it

                I have a bucket of mosquito larvae out on the side of the house...probably gonna feed them to my convicts.

                  I have them invading my microworm cultures....
                  so I feed microworms to the newborn
                  larva (magots) to the juvies and
                  the adults get the flys

                        Now that I'm out I can breath a little easier, but my legs are still shaky.  28 days in the hospital with women abusing my body day & night !   :?

                            Yea! the last time was over 30 days and both hotmail & yahoo closed out my accounts, erased all my incomming email and all my saved folders.  However I was able to get my old addresses back.
