I had a thought about putting feeder fish into my 10gal for my new wet pets in the bedroom. I love the colors and I'd be saving some lives. How many could I put in there?
only a few, and even then not for very long. for one feeder fish arent kept int he best conditions, so arent known to last very long. some do make it of course, but when full grown can get rather large. i have seen them in the 6 inch range. maybe bigger i am not sure. people use them as pond fish with koi. they are called comets.
being goldfish, they are also notoriously dirty. you will have to keep on top of water changes and filtration.

I guess depend on size, but if you have good filtration (at least an AC50), I don't see why not. Maybe 10-20 until they get too big.

i honestly dont know what they throw into feeder tanks. there could be a few different species of goldfish in there. some could be comets, and others not. like ptran noted....if you have good enough filtration you could fit a small group. if they start to get larger and space is running out....find someone with a pond move them to a bigger tank

Thinking about setting the 10gal back up in my bedroom. I love the glow of the tank at night with the room lights off. It's a great way to get quiet time and watch tv.
Get a school of Cardinal Tetra. I believe they max out at around 1.25". Beautiful color and 10 gallon should be okay for a school of 10-15.
If I'm not mistaken, $1-2 each at Fish Land.

Don't they die if you sneeze too loud? I thought they are SUPER fragile.
They are all right. Here is my 10 gallon tank

Oh how pretty! Of course I did notice how pretty they were at fishland and I noticed the cheap price. I thought they couldn't handle our liquid cement??
I tried them once when I first started keeping fish and I knew nothing about slow acclimating and I put them with the wrong tank mates so they all died. I've been told by a number of people that they're just too fragile and you have to make the water more acidic yada yada...
