I see you have the cherry shrimp too. What's on the bottom? All those little black looking things? I noticed fishland has julie cory cats. They're too cute.

It would be a bad thing to get them and find out I have the ones that get big. Maybe I won't try that.

being goldfish, they are also notoriously dirty. you will have to keep on top of water changes and filtration.

I have a big piece of drift wood and I'm great at killing plants. lol My wood is probably too big for that 10gal. I had a rubber lip plec some years ago and someone ate his eyes out one night. I "think" that was when I had some angels. I was horrified. Since this crew doesn't bother the emerald corries I've thought about trying a rubber lip. I swear I love cat fish. I've heard a lot of people say they're ugly but I don't think so.

Wait, I meant to say I had a bristle nose, not rubber lip, but I had thought about getting a rubber lip. I loved my bristle nose although he wouldn't let me see him much. He was very shy. I bought that piece of wood just for him.

What about blood fin tetras? Never had those before but I think they're pretty.

              It's raining hard now.

What do you all think of this light for the 10gal?

I doubt the LEDs would last long. But for only $9 its worth a try. Not much specs on it. Now I'm tempted to try it.

I'm looking at this one too. I don't want it to constantly change lights though. If it says "changing light" does that automatically mean that I can't control it and just keep it on one color?

I was just thinking about seeing what you're doing and if you're ok today, and there you are!

Be aware, the spec not indicate is 120v or 220v. If you lucky, 100v-240v that will work for US.

I went into work late after not seeing much from the storm. Not sure about the color changing lights. Although I don't see any buttons for you to control the color

I sent them an email asking. I wouldn't want it if it constantly changed.

I really like this one. Looks like it just sits on the top.

in my 10g planted tank i went cheap and did a standard incandescent strip (the two screw in ports). i put a daylight CFL bulb in each (6500k spectrum) which is good enough for low light plants. some flourish and root tabs and you are good to go.

as for cardinals in our water, if they were bred and raised here they should have adapted to the higher pH and hardness. neons and cardinals are a little more touchy i agree. they typically like softer water and more neutral pH, but trying to make a soft water tank in houston is an uphill battle. can be done, just takes maintenance.
