  • Tanks and Apartment Dwellers

    Hi all,

The wife and I are residing in an apartment until our house sells up north (almost been a year!). How many tanks/gallons do you guys/girls have in an apartment? Right now, I have five tanks (3 ten gallon, a 37 gallon hex, and a 55 gallon) in a two bedroom, upstairs unit. I am sure I am a light weight, but just curious what others have out there.

I live on the 22 floor and i have eight 10-gals in the spare bedrooms, one 20-gal in the dining room and one 20-gal in the living room.
I sure hope the floor holds up... it's a long way down.... 8O

At my highest number of tanks on the third floor I had a 75 and 60 in the dining room area and a 40 under the bar.  I also had a 40 breeder on the built in desk in the hall.  In the living room I had a 45 tall and two 10 gallons for babies.  The g/f said that I had a "problem".....can ya believe it....LOL!!!  Oh...this was all in a one bedroom.

See, I knew I was a light weight. I am on the second floor, but I think the floors are concrete. I had a major leak and luckily the guy underneath me didn't get wet!

...delock has a concrete floor... I'm envious.

Structural engineer just said "No" to a 210 on the third floor of my house.

The most I had at any one time in an apartment (I would not live on anything except th first floor) was:
                      1x210
                      1x92
                      1x80
                      2x55
                      1x37
                      3x29
                      2x20
                      1x18
                      3x10
                      1x6
                      1x5

ok...But If you place the tank along a loadbearing wall you should be ok. I think the SE is just trying to avoid work.
