  • What would you do if you have a ADA RR 90-P?

I got this tank in a trade with a friend.
    ADA 90-P, Reef ready (around 600gph drain and return), 36"long x 18" wide x 18" tall, ~ 48 gallon
It will be located in my study room, so I would like sth low maintenance. I prefer staying with fresh water.
What is your thought to be housed in this tank?
    Thanks.

I am afraid the shrimps will fall into overflow and die in the sump.
I am leaning to easy plants, sand and cory.

Some small size would be nice too.

I picture that tank with a a big single piece of manzanita branch or other driftwood partially out of the water. Very lightly planted just to help with nitrates a little. Filled with community SA. Maybe a Geo trio, tetras, put a few nice plecos in there. Toss a a single spotlight over it.

Or a simple discus tank would be cool. Like this one.

                  Andrew,
Thanks for your idea. That tank with discus looks great. However, I may change from discus to angels for easy and low maintenance. Geo could be a great idea, but they pick up sand and would mix the sand with soil and make it messy substrate.

Nah they are not that fragile. Throw in some moss for them and they should be fine.

For low maintenance, I would go with heavy planted tank with very lightly loaded fish. Def not geo because they are earth eater and will mess up your substrate.

heavy plant will require a goodlight, good soil, co2 and ferts. LOL. So, It is not low maintenance anymore.

Trust me. I had killed so many red cherry shrimps when I put in a sump in my previous planted tank to remove that surface film.

In that case, no shrimps for you.
