Best way to clean up a "for sale" tank???

I have a 60g F/W tank that I am getting rid of. I have a friend that might be interested if he can convince his wife. The tank has lots of hard water scale on the top from 2.5 years of evap, etc. I need to get the scale off and make the tank nice and pretty to convince his wife to buy it.. LOL... she's tough.

Any tips on making the tank nice and clean?

OH... I need to get some off the glass too. Condesation likes to drip down the side and it left some hard water deposits on the glass outside... My wife is an expert at this, but she's out of town... so... a little help would be awesome.

ditto. used that method to clean off 7 years worth of evap and hard water stains on an aquarium top and took me over an hour. The whole tank would take much longer.

Razor blades, vinegar, barkeepers friend, and muriatic acid. In order from mildest to harshest

What Austine said. Be careful with the razor blaze. Might scratch the glass.

baking soda and vinegar will clean up most cloudy haze. make sure you use gloves and eye protection

like someone else said, razors will remove all algae. from glass.
