Is this a legit Houston Aquarium Society (HAS) auction? The information is being put out by someone I've not heard of, there is nothing on the HAS Website about it. The location is giving in 2 different places: Hess Club on Westheimer and a more detailed flyer in the other listings says it's at the usual place, the American Legion.

          Clay, is this legit?
          Guppies:
Hi-fin pepper Cory's, Black Cory's, Long Fin Golden Aneus, Swordtails, some lyretail(RREA's, Red, Albino Koi, Red & Gold Tux), Different types of BN plecos(albino, calico, long fin, blue eyed short & long fin)
          Mystery Snails, Yellow Shrimp, CPDs

HAS Master Aquatic Gardener awarded 1997
HAS Master Fish Breeder awarded 1998

The auction is not HAS. It's Texas Aquatics. They are legit club here in Texas. They have their meeting with the Great Houston Aquarium Club most months. Good group of people.

So why do they have HAS all over their auction information? :( And where in the heck did they get my personal email? I received their flyer and the 'sent from' information is HAS. I believe you Troy, that Texas Aquatics is a legit club. The postings, and email have so many red flags that I question the legitimacy of it. The flyer certainly implies, if not actually states the auction is HAS. At the very least it implies HAS is affiliated and supporting this auction.

I spoke to Charles and got answers to many of my questions. HAS (in the person of Charles) is helping this club with their first auction. And I believe Charles sent out emails to the HAS list to help promote it. I'm just a very suspicious person but I'm glad that another club is doing auctions as I do love to support them! And I would guess the reference to the American legion should have been deleted and the auction is being held at the Westheimer location.

OK, I see Charles responded. Its legit, but really not affiliated with HAS. I sent out the emails.

My sources tell me it is the Hess location.

Here are the forms and instructions. Not exactly the best format, but it is all that I was provided with. It is at Hess. I have never been there, but the website looks nice. I am very curious to see how the turnout will be. I imagine that a lot of new people will be there, but I am not sure about all of the standard people from HAS.
