Coming along nicely. Is that a wrap on the stand? What kind of material?

The stand is some plywood, wrapped in material. The fronts are a brown vinyl with a very subdued texture to it. The sides are a fuzzy cow print, haha! The panels have magnets on them, so all of the pieces are really easy to pop on and off. It is also really easy to change the look. Just get some new fabric/vinyl, and staple it onto the wood panels.

            Update: 3-27-2016

Added the second filter (Fluval FX6) and got some seed material a few days ago from a local. Hopefully it will be cycled by next weekend and I can start adding some fish. Got another piece of driftwood in, and turned the other one so it sits under the center brace. I kind of like it, and may end up leaving it like that until and if, it ever decides to sink. Have one more large stump, but it floats like crazy, so I need to get some more slate to mount it to.

Very cool idea for the stand, easy to customize. That driftwood looks ominous floating around

                Update: 4-3-2016

Thanks to a local fish enthusiast, we got some planting started. Also have a few more being mailed to me. Can't say how much I appreciate the kindness of the people in this hobby. I will be sure to pass it along down the road.

For now, we got about 25% of the tank planted. I hope to make this about 50-60% when the other plants arrive next week.

We also went ahead and got 6 zebra danios since the cycle seems to have stabilized, thanks again to another local hobbyist providing some seeded filter material. I am guessing I have 2 males and 4 females. The 2 males like to turn a pretty golden color, and do a little "happy dance" with the females, in the sand and new plants. I'm not really concerned with rearing any fry, so I am not doing anything to help any eggs that get laid about. But it is good to know they seem happy and comfortable.

I also got the upside down piece of driftwood mounted to a large sink cutout, from a black granite counter top. Worked like a charm, and it will blend in, if for some reason the sand gets pushed off the top of it. I also mounted the last large stump of driftwood I have, and got it in the tank. Still pretty cloudy from moving the sand around, so I will wait to post a picture with that in the tank. For now though, enjoy some pics!

                  Update: 4-15-2016

Got a lot more plants and some more fish. These were all donated by other hobbyists!!! The last pic is a snapshot from a video, so it is not good quality, but it is after I got the plants out of the pots, off the weights, and put into the substrate. I also added 4 small Sunsun powerheads to give some more flow. It is starting to come along nicely!!

If it works, I have a video on facebook at:
