  • Feather fin Loach and my Synodontis decorus

I have been asked to show a couple of my fish which I am about to get ready to move into other tanks

My lone Feather Fin Loach :) just love how it moves about.

My Synodontis decorus -- he/she is about to go in my Leleupi/Brichardi tank  -- he is shy

Another picture of the Synodontis decorus -- he was the only fish I got at the auction which I though 24 hours later... man he is dead.. he looked like he was not eating at all.  Now a month later he is plum.

The little hillstream loach sure is cute.  I've got a few of those (the spotted variety) but my driftwood keeps leaching (even after boiling) so I can only see them for a day or 2 after i do a w/c. I'm glad you like him - they're pretty interesting.

Wow - the decorus looks 100% better!  :)  I'm so glad he took a turn for the better!
he's gonna be a handsome fella when he grows up!

Re: Feather fin Loach and my Synodontis decorus

Thanks EK --  the Syno is the one I won at the HAS auction and both Spot and I had wanted him.   When we inspected him more closely we noticed he was THIN as a rail and he was not really wanting to eat when I got him home.   He was upside down and face first into the gravel the next morning..  Me thinking DAMMIT I have a dead fish.   When I pushed him he started moving but still not really well.  It took about 2 days before he was right side up.   Then he started moving around a little bit here and there.   About a week later he started to search out food and went from looking like he was a rescue from some bad breeder to a nice looking fish.  I have been VERY busy over the last few weeks and I have not really noticed how he was looking until the other night I sat down and really looked at the little 10g tank he is living in to see how he was doing.  I noticed he was nice and plum and running around actively and foraging for food each time I feed the fish.  The tank mainly hold guppies because I had lost so many when I had a massive emergency hospital tanks with guppies and cichlids in it at the same time.

Now my guppy population is back in full swing of things and I am happy (well the kids are) and their tank is up and running again smoothly.   I will be doing some rearrangements here this weekend of rocks and fish and put fish in tanks they need to live in longer term.  So this was prolly the last time where I am going to be able to see him foraging around for a while without having to "Look" for him.
