Runt fish?

We got 6 little Angels at the HAS auction and one of them isn't growing, or is at least growing very very slow.  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?  Is he a runt??

The 5 other angels are about the size of your palm.  The 1 runt is no bigger than a nickel.  What's up with that?  He eats just as much as the others...

Either runt or the weak link.....the others are probably getting all it's food.

You can try and put it in it's own tank for now and do lots of good water changes to help it increase the growth rate.

We just moved the other angels out into the 55, so he is now alone in a 10g.  We'll try that for a while and see if he grows.  It's so weird.

By 'lots' do you mean daily?  Or a couple times a week?

Couple times a week should be good especially in a 10g.

I have been doing 2x60-70% weekly wc in my troph tanks and the fry in there are growing at an astonishing rate!

Water changes makes the water "fresh" because you are removing dissolved particles from the tank.   The fresher the water the more oxygen can be carried in the water the more O2 in the tank the more the fish will grow.  Think of what athletes who are hurt what they do.  They sleep in o2 tank heal quicker.  Fresh water does the same for fish.
