my tank! Its a 150 gallon running two HOB's one is a penguin 350 and the other is an emperor 400.. hoping to buy a canister filter soon.. pictures were taken on 05-01-08 date on camera was wrong..

A unique blend of different types of cichlids have you had any problems?

The Blue fish.. does he have red in his body ?  I believe from looking at the picture he has some, but he is not colored really well.  If so I believe he is a Copadichromis borleyi.   What do you all think ?

Delock -- I believe the yellow tint you see is from the use of an incorrect bulb in his lighting fixture.
I installed a light using a work shop light and in water it displays so much yellow that my roomate's son asked if someone had "peed" in the tank (he was 7 at the time when he said that)

JGUERRA -- I would strongly recommend when you get a chance goto your local fish store (not petco/petsmart) and pick up some real 10k-18k daylight example would be some Hagen T8 Power Glow as they will bring out the best colors in your fish.  Do not get Marine Glow or Flora Glow as you are not running a salt water tank and you dont have plants in your tank that needs the next lighting the flora glow gives.  If you have two fixtures installed in your canopy, then get one of each, a power glow and a sun glow.  Sun Glow light bulbs will give you the most "natural" day light.

A workshop florescent light bulb is not meant to light up water, and have a strong yellow tint to it when lit through water.  This is because the human eye, yellow is mid way between Red and the blue spectrum and gives you above water the most natural "white" light without costing and arm or leg..

I've had these fish together for about 4-5 months and they dont seem aggresive towards each other at all..  :)

i thought they would have since i bought most of them already large and in there previous tanks i was told they were aggresive toward other fish.. the only one giving a problem was the big yellow cichlid that i moved over to the botton tank but hes startin to just chill out now so ill move him up again to see how he behaves..

The lights are work shop lights and they do give off a bit of yellow-ness..  :(
Ima go into looking into those 10k lights ..

the blue fish has orange on his body and he also has all his fins covered in perfect little orange dots.. i bought this fish at the fish ranch on 59

i also have some parrot fish that were a dark hunter green then started changin into green and tan stripes and now he has green and orange stripes they look pretty cool now.. ill try and take some more pics today =)

If you get a chance --- see if you can get a good mid center picture of blue cichlid.. I would be interested if it is a Copadichromis borleyi or not.
I am wondering what your big yellow guy below is

The cichlids in my bottom tank just had fry about 4 days ago.. i have the fry in a small floating fry basket.. and the other cichlid in there is holding eggs in her mouth too.. all the fry looks like the mom with stripes hopefully the next ones will have some yellow ones..
