    Cichlid ID Help Please

    Does anyone know the common name or sceintific collar for this convict look alike? They do resemble convicts a little but I don't believe they are.





    I bought four of them from the HAS auction last August, and they where very small then, now they are just under 3 inches and have very pretty blue eyes.

    Anyone know this fish...?   They are light grey with black vertical bars, and very pretty blue eyes.

        CF -- Check out Archocentrus nigrofasciatus -- Honduran Red Point and see if they match up.
        Yours have some good striping.  If they are non-convict blended you will notice the third stripe does NOT complete to the back.
        Several pictures out there looks like them.   Do a little research and see what you think.

          Well that answers the question...  Archocentrus cutteri is has to be then :)  isnt it cool to see your fish again in someone elses tank ?  I just think its so cool to look back at some of the fish that lived with me end up in someone elses tank.

            I've always liked them, they looked good and had hardy little dispositions, they have turned out to be very good looking little cichlids.....

            PS....forgot to mention, two of them have paired up and are guarding a brood of fry....way cool....
