    For those who keep fish in their garage...

    I'm thinking about setting up a tank in the garage but... I don't know about you - but my garage is hotter than the gates of hell in the summer.... are you using window units or something to keep it cool?

    I have kept my tanks in the garage for 5 years or so now and haven't had a problem. I keep africans so the warmer temps are better.  My tanks are even on the outside wall and still no problems. The colder months are more of a concern than summer months. No window unit or anything like that. However it does sucks to tend to them when it feels 900 degress out there. As for anything other than africans, I don't know, but my clown loaches do just fine as well. If I don't see any problems with them everything else in my tanks will be just fine.

      You could install a couple of ceiling fans to come on with  a timer.

        I have multiple frag tanks in my garage.
        I have a portable AC unit to keep everything cool.

          Mine is insulated, paneled and has central air&heat.
          But I keep the louvers shutoff and use a space heater in the winter.

          The summer heat can get to an uninsulated garage, but a couple of exhaust fans in the top of the windows or garage doors will keep the temp down to "shade" temp.

          He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

            They make automatic fans for the roof. That come on when the temp reaches a certain temp.
            You can install these is the ceiling of your garage to pull the hot air out.
