    Something fishy going on at 1800-SEAHORSES

    Guys, today at lunch, i was at 1800 SEAHORSE or FISH RANCH or whatever it's called now, to bring in some frags for trade and it seems like there's something going on there.
    I was quite surprised when i ran into Mike there behind the counter.

    We chatted a little bit, i'm still a bit fuzzy with the details but apparently Mike wasn't happy with the way things were happening at SEAHORSE's, so he bought the place back from the "new" owner.
    So now Mike and Nick are running the place.

    I was glad to hear that FR is back in family hands. Mike mentioned some of the plans that he had for the place and how he was planning on getting some new stock of fish and stuff, so i guess it's here to stay!

    Has anyone else heard anything about this?

    I dunno of it was on here or by word of mouth, but I heard this recently.

      Mike didn't buy it back....he repossessed it.

            Talked to Mike last week or was it the week before and yeah he was a bit disappointed.....Think I mentioned it in one of the other threads.


            BTW, what kind of frags do you have? I frag out of my tank from time to time and love trading!

              EK, i traded in a bunch of Rics, zoos and some blue tipped acros. My chiller died on me sometime in the last 3 days and my frag tank boiled till i discovered it today. I lost a bunch of acros and montipora digitata. All the rics and zoos survived though... hardy little buggers. No more frags at the moment. I traded all of them in today. I was quite honored when mike put some in his display tank

                Yeah Mike is back..spoke to him Sat..he and I always talk apistos and he lost his source to Don at FG so he was asking for new sources...Dan..you listening?

                    All,

                    I can confirm the this. I spoke at length with Mike on Sunday.  He never sold the entire store to John, rather he sold the inventory and worked out lease to buy arrangement. John went into arrears on rent, the power bill, and in the end employee salary. Currently Mike is in charge with Gina behind the cash register and Nick running his butt off. Don, Fish Gallery, does indeed have the exclusive on Tony and Rose's Appisto's and West African designer fish and Mike is in the market for a new quality source. I know he is also interested in establishing ties with ADG again - it seems previous ownership turned a deaf ear and blind eye to Mike and Jeff - so if anyone runs into either during your LFS visits give 'em a heads up....

                      Now that all of this has been said I can confirm all of the above as accurate. I hated to be the one to say it first.

                        OK.  So my question is what is the official name of the store now?  Fish Ranch or Seahorse?  If it is still Fish Ranch how, if at all, does that affect the one in Rosenburg?  Charles?

                              Saw all the corals that were on the frag plugs.....next time you start fragging let me know! Especially the pink rics!
