That is gorgeous. I am trying for natural landscaping in my tanks, but am having trouble with plants (my fish and snails move them on me...need a more stable substrate. Still I am really enjoying looking at pictures of tanks like yours.
K, look into getting some ferns and anubias, you can tie those to driftwood and rocks and it will help soften up the tank some and won't be bothered much by those fish that move earth, the snails might be a problem depending on what kind they are.
Just mystery snails that will try to climb dwarf swords and other tiny thin plants. They don't harm them, they just try to climb things too unstable to support their weight. I like the idea of tying them to driftwood. One of my tanks has a lot of driftwood. Thanks for the idea!
WOW, I didnt know there would be this many questions. Sorry for not checking back but I will answer all the questions and post some updated pics later this week.
1. I am using a heater because there will be some very temperature sensitive shrimp added.
2. Tank was bought used and the previous owner hand-built the stand.
3. The plants were actually very small when I got them. There were about 5-7" in length but with all the equipment, growing plants 2-3" a week is not impossible.
4. Substrate is ADA powersand with ADA aquasoil version I.
