This lady was really nice - her store is open only on Saturdays or by appointment.  She told me that fish are wholesale+shipping+10% and her prices tend to be cheaper than other LFS's

They moved a couple years back and focus mostly on aquarium maintanence. The store keeps a small selection last time I was there.

From what I understand is they now are primarily into installation and maintenance.

They have a small shop off of stella link and 610.  They are open by appointment most of the time.  There aren't many fish actually in the store - one wall salt water, one wall fresh.  What she doesn't have in stock I think she special orders for customers.

I use to visit with them last summer & they were talking about closing the store down.
So I had assumed they had closed the doors by now.
I am happy to see they are still open.
I need to go visit with them.

A far cry from their original store on Stella Link and 610 in the Foodarama shopping strip. Careful if you special order "Dragon Goby", LOL! :wink:

Empire Tropical fish? They are no more. They have ceased to be! I tried to stop by last fall, but they were gone for good. Now the closest LFS to me, not including Petsmart nor Planet Fish's broom closet, is Fondren Fish 'N' Pets.

Man another one bites the dust then. They were a good one I use to trade with them all the time.
I need to go visit with Fondren fish & pets again. I had gotten one of my best breeders from them.

Empire went downhill the last year or so he was open.

So Toni is trying to keep planet fish alive is see.....far cry from the store next to Foodarama.

BTW, I have occasionally seen arrowhead puffers at both City Pets and Fondren Fish 'N' Pets, but sold as pig-nosed puffers, humpback puffers, among other names. Last saw one at Fondren 2 months ago.
