  • Clown Loach Question

Does anyone else have clown loach's that sleep on their sides? Mine have been doing this for some time now, and it just looks odd, any reason for this? are they more comfortable do you suppose?

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

    Re: Clown Loach Question

I notice that Roy and Heidi's will at times lay on its side sleeping..  I always wondered about that.  I am thinking that in nature that in its natural surroundings this is a way for it to sleep in tight spots.

When I had mine they slept on their side all the time....they also wedged themselves in the rocks in odd positions too.

Oh and when they are happy and eating they make a cracking noise....kinda like glass cracking

One time I thought it was dead so I nudged it, the loach was between the rock and upside down.  It flipped over and gave me a dirty look.    They do sleep in odd positions.

            Re: Clown Loach Question

i have not seen any clowns that do not sleep on their sides

            pretty much standard behavior

freaks people out that have never seen them though as they are quick to point out you have a dead fish in your tank
