I'll tell you what... John is one of the most innovative AND generous people I know. Loretta has a heart of gold.... I am so glad both of you have some of my buff babies and that Loretta now has baby Renny. They will all live long and prosper ;-). Sorry...feeling a tad sentimental..watched army wives tonight. I'll be posting my all my tanks here real soon, just got the newest in the showroom here at work this weekend. It will be a few days before I can get it cycling.
Here's a shot of the new tank, I managed to get a little work done on it today, I'm heading to the hardware store to replace the plumbing pieces that had to be cut for transport to the warehouse.

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

Who said you can't landscape a 12" deep tank ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
Thanks FF
My son found the tank at a Garage sale for $20, my daughter found the driftwood at the ferry landing and I got the AquaLight from another member of Fishbox.
95% of the fish & all of the plants in this tank were purchased for a steal from from various HAS or HLA auctions.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
The discus are my favorite too. The dimensions of the 30XH are 24"L x 24" H x 12" D. My aquascaping skills are suspect at best but I liked figuring out the tall plants for the 30XH.
All my tanks have a ton of MTS, including the 55. They make a good bottom crew and usually the yoyos in that tank keep the numbers down. When I feel they've reached epidemic numbers I thin them out.
The gold apple snail has been with me about ten years now. She's about tennis ball size. The yellow neocardina shrimp in her tank have been there for a few months and have multiplied wonderfully. I'll have some of those for sale soon.

my 30H is also the same dimension and is hard to aquascape, i might take some pointers from yours, wow - that is amazing that apple snail has been with you that long, i didn't even know they survived that long!
