Sounds like the service at "Discount" Tropical Fish of of 59 South and Wilcrest/Bellfort.

I stopped in there a few weeks ago to see what they had to offer, and the guy ran me out of the store. It was 2 pm and he said he was going to lunch. "Buy something or get out."
I'll never return.

Wow,  If alot of these fish stores new about HFB, they might act differently.

sounds like they have something goin on in the back.  the fish store is a front to keep the cops and everyone else off there tail.  wonder what they got.  maybe we should send EK in to investigate.  or should we trust him to investigate?  maybe hes in on the operations.  lol.  i mean he did say they were just keepin it real.  maybe we should send someone else.

maybe.  i dont konw. you sayin all asians have asome sort of boot leg business.  i just watched all 3 rush hours yesterday so im suspicious.  plus mike was running a fish sweat shop in the back room

They sound horrible! I visit my lfs every week and most of the time I don't make a purchase either but I have never been treated that way. I have sent several people to their store to make purchases. Although there is another lfs in our area that I will "not" go back to. The owner is a know-it-all, and told me that if he thought I was not capable of taking care of a fish he would "not" sell it to me. He also told me that he's not in the business to make money. I wasn't sure if I should have been offended or not. I actually went in there for a copper test kit and that's when he started to "tell me a thing or two". He don't believe in using chemicals, test kits, medications etc. He went on and on! It started to get annoying, I just wanted a test kit that noone else had. He told me that I was doing everything wrong and talked bad about the lfs that I do like. Well that did it! He may not like them but I do. That was my first time there and I have not been back.

I've often wondered if some of these stores were fronts for something else or used as tax shelters, 'cause they sure as hell can't be making a living at it. There's one on the north-side of Westheimer near Hwy. 6 that was in the most deplorable condition. Even if you knew nothing about fish, you would not buy anything from them. Never, ever seen fish look that bad.

they're just doing business, and sometimes when business 's going down, they will act like that to their custumers in order to make them have to buy something for every visit. That store is really bad that really like the one at 59 South and Wilrest.
