That's the one....this also depends on whether the National Guard commandeers all of the 15 passenger vans...if so we will come up with some sort of alternate plan.

From the looks of it..  Katy is pretty much back to normal -- On the south side I drove this evening on both Mason, Westgreen and Fry Rd and I see damage, but nothing severely.  I am thinking tomorrow morning Walmart is going to be open.  Power everywhere was up as far as I could see and I am thinking the area will be bustling with people.

Call from people in Austin say the weather was nice and sunshine :)

Well....this thing's gotten a bit screwed up. Left the house this morning to one of the heaviest rains I've ever had to drive through. I exit for JFK at the airport to rent the van and it's impassible. So....as this point I figure not a lot of people are going to show anyway given the situation and decide to drive to the Katy Mills Walmart. After a drive in which I saw a bunch of cars stranded along the feeder, I finally got there only to find that the exit/underpass to get there is impassible. Backed up the exit ramp and got back on the freeway. Got ahold of Rob, who was, other than Nancy, the only person I've talked to about this thing in the last 24 hours and we're meeting at the Walmart in Sealy...which is where I sit typing this. Do you ever get the feeling the Lord is trying to tell you something?

Are you towing a boat for your return?  Sorry, but like I said last night there's too much going on for me and others that need special attention right now.  My morning is just as exciting as sitting in a Walmart parking lot.  I'm listening to hold music on Farmers claims line and watching my ceiling leak, kinda like watching paint dry, just reversed.  8)

Just checking to make sure Charles and Rob made it back okay.  Neither of you have power at home, and all you can think about is not missing the auction.  You guys are hardcore!

I'll post a list later....the stuff is at the shop....I have power there. I think Rob and I have a serious problem. Maybe we need an intervention. Seriously though....it provided a nice break to the monotony of sitting around the house with no power. It also gave a perspective to see all of the people on the road coming to help or evacuating.
