    Re: Storm Coming

My Wally Mart (where I work) ia out of tuna, water, Cokes, C and D cell batteries, flashlights, ice, propane, and lamp oil. Still has beer last I saw. Woo-Hoo!! I'm off tomorrow! What a mad-house it was today!

Amazing what even a small run for supplies will do to a store.

I bet my clinic won't close. What is ironic is that when we have horrible weather, clients cancel their appointments for sick and injured pets, but the ones that ONLY want a solo rabies vaccine or nail trims are the one that brave the pouring rain and flood waters! Go figure.

way up here in the north it is all calm.

had a power outage about 11:00 this morn - called electric co & asked if they were practicing?   the guy laughed & said they were repairing a pole struck by lightning in storm yesterday aft.    not to be deterred I went to lunch where it was airconditioned.

hope it's all just rain .   been waiting 3 1/2 weeks for appt & don't want them to cancel me.   :(

              everyone please be safe !!

You're not supposed to get anything until around 7-8am.  The storm slowed down a little bit and got a little stronger - the eye is supposed to make landfall sometime around 12pm according to Channel 2 News.

I hope everyone stays safe!!  I prayed to the fish gods to look after all my little friends  :P

as long as it hits. i think that my store may close. if its floodingat all then i will cancel my classes and stay nice and dry at home. i also stocked up on beer and a little bit of food. i was watching the news earlier yesterday and i heard the word panic 3 times in 30 seconds. freakin media. anyway if you reallhy wanna worry about something if say oh the port of Houston was shut down do to major weather disaster or bad act, we would have shortages of FOOD almost nation wide within 2 weeks. that is unless they got some rewrouted to other ports not too far away (but with less infrastructure to transport it would still cause a delay). But kinda scary when you think about it.

                    Re: Storm Coming

Well the weather woke me up. I thought someone was trying to get in my front door.  Must have been having a weird dream. Just getting some wind and rain here right now, no big deal. If the electricity goes out in port arthur I have to go get my in-laws and bring them here.  :P That is "if we have electricity". Our business closed early yesterday and will be closed today also. What a bummer, I'm on vacation, they never close when I have to work. Hope everyone stays safe and dry.

Looks like it made that right turn before it hits land.

Supposedly heading to our friends up North.....

The work place has issued a "hotline" to call before coming in to work.....I worked a little late this morning and saw some of the day time managers. When asked about not having to come to work tonight I was laughed at    Guess it's business as usual!

What really sucks is I was suppose to get an uber cool package today of Live inverts.......guess I will get some stinky sauce tomorrow or whenever they resume.

The Inspection Dept. is working this morning. We're currently watching it rain...no one else seems to be at work today.

                            Re: Storm Coming

I was looking at a wunderground.com blog and they said it will turn at the last minute. Funny how the last few storms always make that last minute turn right before it supposed to hit.

Hope everyone east of me is safe. Working for the state is great!

Now that the storm is almost over, my lights are flicking on and off. Still have my electricity. The wind has slowed down and there is very little rain here. I'm about to check the weather.

Looks like Houston is about to start getting some of it. Or is starting to get some of it. It's not nearly as bad as they made it out to be. Just checked on my inlaws, they still have their electricity but a few blocks down the road there are two neighborhoods that have none.
