What do you think, Black or Blue?

Im gonna paint the back of my new tank before i put it in my apartment tomarrow and wanted to know everyones opinion.  I like the black but sometimes think that it makes it too dark.  If you have pictures of different colored tanks that have been painted i would like to see the pictures.  thanks shawn.

It depends on your lighting, Fish, substrate and rocks.

Lighting will be two 36" pc fixtures from delock.  Substrated will be poolfilter sand from leslies.  and the fish will be tropheus mpulunga.

The black is gonna make them darken in the dark areas which IMO looks outstanding! Only problem is it might wash the yellow a bit but what ever yellow shows will stand out!

The blue is gonna make the yellow seem like it covers more of the flank but the black body will be washed and not solid.



Personally....For moops I would go with the black background.

Dark backgrounds make the fish harder to see.
I like a lighter blue when I use a single flourescent bulb fixture.

these will be duel pc fixtures.  should not be dark at all.  i think that im gonna go with quoc.  The black will make the yellow stand out.  thanks shawn.

We just set up this 90 gallon. When we bought it (used), it came spray-painted blue on the back. I love it:

Since I recently encountered the same dilemma, this is what I found. Black is better than blue if you have dark decorations. It is personal preference if you have light decorations. I like black backgrounds, personally.

that is very true.  man you think of everything.  I have 20/20 vision, am 5'11", Brown hair, blue eyes, 160 lbs.  anything else that you might want to know in determining the best background for me.   :P   j/k

I'm guessing round eyes since they are blue....round eyes let in more light so you are good with either.
