    Re: German Blue Rams

Well when I want a fish, no one has them....I guess if I decide to not get any Rams...every fish store in Houston will be overstocked on them...that's just my luck. :(

Sure wish you'd decide that!  I'd like a couple for the new used Angel tank that's almost ready to go.  So guess we're on a German Blue Ram watch  :lupe:

Yes I am going from this... :aua: to this... :wail:

So, I think I am going to stop obsessing over these cool little fish until I get my 55 gallon set back up and get the discus moved into it, which will be months from now.....so the Ram stock in Houston will flourish ..... :emtthumbs:

The rams I just inherited came from FishRFun. I went there last night looking for females but they are all males.

FINALLY I got 2 long finned rams. Very pretty but still a tad stressed out. They look really cool! Alex at Ultimate fish had just a few left. 5 or 6 after I got my 2.

                          Re: German Blue Rams

i just picked up two today as well but from village tropical, they had gold ones and blue ones tank full of them!

i seen one with her tube down and a male close by so i snatch them two.

the had a whole bunch of each color and they all look in good condition.

here are some pics of mine after acclimating.

                                Re: German Blue Rams

                                Sorry to hear that.

I read an article about rams. I will try to find it. The article suggested a very slow and easy acclimation period. I think it said the magic number was 4-7hrs. It also said that most of these little rams will die in the first 10 days due to acclimating too fast.

I floated mine and added 10cc of water ever 30 minutes for 4 to 5 hrs.

I will look for that article and post a link.
