  • Should I get 2 more for $20 each

My bro have bought 2 new flowerhorn form his dad friend for $20 buck each. They are about 3 inches 3 1/2.  I was wondering should I get 2 more.  Im not really good with picking fishes as I barely started getting into flowerhorns.  Here are pics of the 2 of them so far.  Which one you think I should pick.  The reder one or the one with the many dots. The pink fish if mine lol.

Beautiful fish.. but like many have found out they are very aggressive and without a VERY large tank keeping more than a pair together gets hard.
I have seen this fish kill one off overnight (one jumped from one tank into another and was killed over night)

Yeah thats what happen thats why that other fish tail is all bitten up.  That one for some reason have black bars on it.  Some day it dissapear other days it shows up.  The other fish has no bars.  I think I'm going get one like that.  Im afraid if I buy some more I dont have a tank to keep them in.  I have one spair long 75 gallon sitting outside which I dont know will be enough for it.  Oh yeah I posted about giving away some dogs like a week ago.  My mom decided to build a new fence for them so not giving them away no more sorry.

Flowerhorns get the vertical stripes when they are stressed out.  Those "stripes" should disappear when the fish starts to adapt to his new environment.  It can take a day or a few weeks.  I love the flowerhorns, they're personally my favorite fish to keep, but it does become a pain when each one needs at min. a 55 gal. tank.  I currently have two, I had three but had to give one to my cousin because he had a bigger tank to keep it in.  My big male flowerhorn is in a 75 gal. by himself, and the little one is in a 90 gal, mixed with other aggressive cichlids.  I always want to get more but I don't want 20 tanks around the house!  8O
