"Galveston city officials issued a mandatory evacuation for residents on the West End only starting at 7 a.m. Thursday."

They just said on the news that as of 9:30am the mayor of Galveston has issued a Mandatory Evacuation for ALL of Galveston Island.  There will be a 15' to 17' storm surge along Galveston and Galveston Bay.

Thank GOD this last class of mine is a bunch of loveable nerds who like watching a discovery channel video.  *whew*
I am going home, packing up some stuff and heading to Steve and Terri's with Justin to hide out so my car won't be in Little Mexico under the carport and 30ft trees lol

The fish and cat will have to fend for themselves at times, but all of my bubblers are hanging above the top of the tank and I am going to try to clean a few tanks tonight...the rest tomorrow.

I hesitate to go buy anything....
We will have water... I'm going to charge my mp3, I have books to read, flashlights, gas, and dogfood...oh yeah...suggie food too.  Too many babies to take any chances.

Hey Treston,
I am watching the weather channel and I don't see anything about the zip codes...Is there anywhere else that I can look that up?
I've tried googling it and I couldn't find anything that's current.  8O

We where waching it at about 9:00am.  I am not sure if they are still doing that cuz I just walked through the door and have not turned on the weather channel but I was listening to the radio in the car and they talked about all the countys and citys that are under a mandontory evacuation.  Just an FYI they were including Galvaston.

I hope everyone and their loved one's are well situated in a safe place or well prepared for what MIGHT happen.


In spite of all the jokes about it not hitting us it seems that there is a slight chance we will be getting some of the nasty. So pack up on the tuna, water and start doing those water changes! For those that do evacuate.....find alternate routes if possible and fill those gas tanks up!
