If I still had my license I would fly down there and tell her to pack up.

I am looking at the weather, and from my limited knowledge of weather and understanding of it (1 yr in college about aviation weather)  I am starting to see exactly what kind of storm this is going to end up being like.
I am thinking that it will not be as strong a storm (and from all looks of it, its showing the same) as Alicia was, but I am going to say flooding is going to be a major factor for this.

From what I understand a lot of Galveston already has flooding and a lot of roads are not passable including parts of the seawall.  She needs to get out of there!!  The news is reporting that the water is going to be turned off in a little bit.  Please keep us updated!!

Ramius, please let us know when you get her to safety. I may not know you and Alexa on a personal level, but I'm worried about both of your safety.

Just spoke with David, and he wanted me to let you guys know that he convinced her to get off that island. She promised him that she would pack her belongings and get the heck out of dodge!

Hey everyone, just got back in. We went back and forth about the issue all down 45. She finally caved as I was getting close. To keep me from coming onto the island she agreed to come off. I made her swear it to me and she simply said "I'm leaving now, I swear, trust me."

She said she will make contact as soon as she can, her phone was about to die (from us arguing). Thank you so much everyone who called, seriously. If she wouldn't have agreed to leave I may have needed backup to drag her out of there. I'm still praying until I hear from her again but on her word she's leaving and should be on the road safely now.

Ramius, I hope she makes it out ok as well as you.  I'm praying for both of you both.  

They are not using the helicopters anymore because of the wind... :(

just received a call from David. Alexa is flooded out so her father went down in his hummer and he flooded out too....he's now calling the Galveston County Emergency management for help to rescue them and he's asking for prayers at this time...

I'm on the phone with David right now, he is in Galveston on broadway at the wall by Stuart beach. He said he still cannot find her, and hopes she got out. he said her car got flooded and rescue crews were helping her. But he doesn't know if she acutally got off. He also said that ALOT of residence are still there just walking around taking pictures. the weather is terrible and it is as black as night, he can't even see in front of him. i'm sure he will give more details when he can.
