Thank you so much for all the help! Tim and Tracy give me batteries and a few other things that should keep me going at list for 20 more hours.
I want to say thank you all for the quick response to my problem! I have never experienced anything like this before in my life but I seriously thought I will be ready,  I have purchased before the hurricane batteries and did water changes what  I never expected was to be with out electricity for more than a day or two.
I promise I will be better prepared, God forbid this happen again with a generator and enough of everything not only for me but for friends as well.
I find me alone with this problem until today that I post here in the HFB most people don't even understand why our "fish tanks" are so darn important and it is sad.

As soon as I can afford it I am going to spend the $7k to install a 18-20kwatt generator in the backyard next to the AC unit.  This will run on Natural Gas.  Almost unlimited supply..
Will be enough to run pretty much the whole house, including tanks

Well still I have no power. But neighbor has generator for me to get online with.
The worst damage I got was 1 tree split into & a few branches broken.
But I have lost a few discus but still have all my breeders & baby discus living without air pump.

Howdy,

Raul GREAT to hear your voice today!  I have been swamped with tree work and trash at UTMB so have not had time for the HFB.  Work is a total mess but we are recovering and I will be hauling more then a 100 tons of trash out of there a day for a while.  Not much structural or tree damage mostly flooding.  I won't be on here much for a while.

Our house is fine compared to others and we have full power and water.  Many quest coming and going.  It's late and have to get up at 5AM to get back in line to get on the island tomorrow.  

I am sure Bob/Phishphreek is fine, he has a son that was living with him so they probably left town.  I will try and call his cell phone when I get a chance.  Later, ken

Ken -- great to hear from you :)

I hope we can hear more from you day to day because we know that you have a ton of work to do down there.
On the helpdesk for UTMB (Atos Origin) I get to get reports from users calling in.   There is a ton of work for you guys I know :)
I hope to hear some good news soon about restoration of things down there, but reality is its going to at least a few months for you guys and many others down there.

Not a word.. but we understand that he was living with his son and we believe he evac'd out before the storm and has just not seen the messages yet from the HFB to report back.

Many are still without power.  Many people we know are on generators and such.
I am one of the lucky ones and had power completely throughout the storm.  Only had a small outage lasting about 90 minutes and since then I had no problems.
I work on the servicedesk for UTMB and daily have heard several stories about the place.
Ken came on tonight and said they are removing over 100 tons of trash each day from UTMB and it will be months before they are fully operational again.

I cannot imagine and I will not travel down to Galveston for a while as I would be more in people's way than anything good down there.  I am sad to see the losses, but glad to know right now that the loss of life has not been reported very high.  This can change of course over the next few days/weeks.  We will see.  
I am glad to see you alive and kicking here.  I am glad to hear you are returning with any and all assistance you can offer the city, I am sure that it will be appreciated.  I hope one of these days in the future we could all get together one day and sit and talk when it is all over..  but I dont see this happen any time soon.

I just want to say that the power came back on at 1:00 in the morning and I got up to connect filters and air pumps. The damage is worst than what I expected on my planted tanks but the fish in the planted tanks seem to be doing fine, on the other hand many T’s died due to bloat the rest look fine this morning with the lights on I was able to inspect them closely so I hope everything goes back to normal soon.
Again big thank to Raul, Tim, Tracy, David, John, Geoff and any body else who offer help without asking for anything in return. I owe you big time.
I will have to see you guy’s soon again to return your batteries and bubblers.

I'm sorry for your losses there Navarro....i'm really glad you have power back up and running now....
It is a truly amazing thing we have here on this fishbox...the tons of people willing to help and no questions asked....
I personally thank each and every one of the members here for their efforts to help out fellow fishkeepers....
It makes me proud to be a part of something so good...

I'm so glad your power is finally back on, and so sorry about your losses.  Luis, if you would like some of our seeded filter media to put in your filters to help kick start your bacteria, please let me know.  We have several filters that have been running and will be happy to give you some to drop in your filters.  No need to stress the fish anymore than they already are by having them go through a full cycle again.

Marcella and me are fine, lost a bunch of fish. I drove down to texas city for work yesterday(delivering motorhomes back to stealership) and was wondering about Bob(phishphreek) all of our generators and parts are sold out here(Demontrond RV)
I'm back at work unfortunatly. Wanted to know if anyone has heard from TxFatCat aka Chris, last time i tried i couldn't get to his house from the beltway and traffic was crazy on 1960.

Sorry for the losses, damage and all that, but thankfull that it seems everyone made it through safe.
