sadly indeed they are. just can't help it sometimes giving them
snacks through out the day. Man you should see my shubunkins
and koi. God knows I really really treat them to much.

throwing some plants in there would really set it off sounds like you got enough light.

I was thinking the same thing but always heard that cichlids lov
to up root planted tanks. I will however try planting some Vals, which have run ramped in one
of my other tanks. Plus will try some ferns and others I can attch to the rocks.

IMO i wouldn't worry about those fish digging 'em up. have you noticed any digging so far?

be careful about that puffer though...as it grows you must put it in brackish water to have it thrive.....
                    it's so cute.....
nice tank you have put together too.....congrats.....

i agree that adding plants could help set it off, but the rock is cool, and i love Blue. Ferns and Anubias should do real well even with the cichlids.

True brackish? I've always heard that w/ houston's tap and  good use of
aquarium salt mix, folks like puffy and some cichlids will thrive just fine...?

Yes Green spotted puffers are high brackish. They should also be fed meaty foods on the shell to keep their teeth worn down. I have two that I keep in full marine conditions with other fish. Some people will tell you they do fine in freshwater. I don't agree.
