I have two of these and they are quite nice looking...but I haven't the slightest clue what they are. Â I don't even know quite where to look in order to find out.

Looking in the book "Back to Nature, Guide to Tanganyika Cichlids" Page 132 The picture of the Neolamprologus Tetracanthus "Magara" is so stunningly close to your picture I am agreeing with Jeebus. Â This is the fish.

This fish occurs thought out the lake, normally seen in the shallow sandy and intermediate habitats. Â Eats invertebrates, including snails. Hmmmm I guess having them with Red devils, interesting peacocks who go head to head with the red devils and win..... bichirs, a brown knife, and um....some geophagus isn't the ideal environment.
