Anyone know where to get snails in N/W Houston? I went to Aquticworld Thursday and they said they didn't have any. I'm just looking for some ramshorns or something like that to feed my puffer.
Tough call there. I know a pond here in Sugar Land that has all the pond snails you could ever want (it is behind my work). If you could feed them common garden snails, I know where there are tons too. You could always go buy some frozen bloodworm, I've heard those are appropriate, just as long as you don't try to feed them anything freeze dried.
I ask cause I have been considering getting a puffer. I read that the only tank mates they can have are ottos, cause they can get aggressive and that they can emit toxins. Best of luck.
Is your puffer too small to eat feeder shrimp (which can also be hard to find)? I only ask cause I am curious about getting one or two for a 20 gallon I have. What species puffer is it?

I have a New Guinea Red Line Tribal Puffer. He/she is about 2 1/2 - 3" long.
Can you believe it? I have called all the LFS in my area and no one has any snails that they want to get rid of. I told them that I would have better luck finding some in a ditch.
