  • aquarium lighting.

    one of the bulbs on my light went out so i went to petsmart and bought a flora-glo t8 2.8k bulb but the brichardis looked weird under it. is there any other types that would be good?

    If you're not trying to grow plants, a regular cool white, around 3200K looks good. I actually like the way my fish look under the 6700K plant lamps. Some folks prefer a bluer 10000K look for their fish.

      Single light bulb... I like a 10,000k light
      Dual I like to look at my africans with Artinic and 10k.

      Just my 2c

        If its dual bulb...

        10k + 6700K will give them a peachy color.

        10k + Actinic will give them a blue color.

          i personally like straight 10K.
          it shows my malawi and tananyikans very nicely.

            I buy the cheapest lights I can find.

              i just bought 2x 3ft dual tube T5 vho fixtures 42 total watts each, for $30 bucks each at home depot.
              i am putting 2x 21 watt t5 vho 10K bulbs in each, they are going on my 125g
              FRENCH FRY!!!

                  Personally hate the look of 10k... has a nasty green blue color to it.

                  I like mix-n-match different spectrums to tailor my own.

                  My Ilangi tank has... 9325k/6700k/12000k
