  • Red Clawed Crab

    Hello,

Anyone ever kept one of these guys. I saw some today and really like them and think they would go good with the planned setup (slightly brackish with some balloon mollies and maybe a guppy or two).

But after doing some research i found they like to eat plants. Was wondering if anyone has ever kept them before and how much plant material they eat.

If this does not pan out i might go for the newt and non brackish conditions.

    Thanks

The one that I had would snip my stem plants at the bottom & I would come home to plants floating at the top of the tank

those crab are freshwater thai crab, they do not need/like any salt in their water, they do need land access.. they are omnivorous, i used to have those, i found they like half dead plants more then anything else...

i believe they do need salt in their water, they will die shortly if they do not have it.  I have kept them before and know first hand.
