i think it would be bad karma to sell it now that it's gone thru all this just to stay alive....... 8O
it surely wasn't meant to die right now or fate wouldn't have played a hand in all of this to help it survive....
i think he should be named something noble and put into a huge display tank there at your store charles....he's bound to reciprocate and bring you good fortune as you have helped bring him his....

I think I heard that before....
If you save someones life, you become responsible for all of his actions in the future. Â Â
Just think you might be pond skum in your next life...........
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
Tough call. Â For a name I think Lucky or Count Lucky (going with the whole vampire thing) would be appropriate names. Â I saved this guy's/girl/um fish's life 3 times. Â I checked on him a few times while at work and the first time, the fountain was on and he was on top of the overflow wall. Â I think he is dead and put a foot on the wall and reach out with a branch and roll him over and he starts swimming again to my amazement. Â The next time I check him he is attached to the wall. Â I can leave early on Friday so I go to academy and buy a fish net. Â
Oh but before that I got to go talk to building security and tell them what I was doing. Â I got to meet the head of security for the building and while he didn't tell me I could take a fish from the pond that was non-native, he did tell me that I wouldn't get arrested but if I got injured their would be a incident report about it (oil companies are nazi's about safety, I get to go to meetings and listen to people talk about it. Â Yawn).
So I got two buckets, a fish net, plastic rap, rope, declorinator, and I am wearing a swim suit while walking around in black socks and my office shoes. Â I get to the fountain and take off my shoes and fill up one bucket and I am looking for the fish. Â I don't see it. Â I am looking into the next pool of the fountain. Â Maybe it went over the overflow. Â So I start to walk around and get a look from different areas and there is the fish laying in the middle of the sidewalk. Â It is was probably 8 inches up the wall and and a few feet from the edge of the pavement into the walkway. Â I still net it, cause I don't feel comfortable picking up anything with retractable fangs, and put it in the bucket.
As I am driving towards Fish Ranch I keep looking back in the bucket. Â Sometimes the pleco is on it's back floating, other times it is moving around being normal. Â Pretty amazing to think that since the fish is probably young it could live on 20-30 years. Â I can see why people like plecos, they die hard, can survive and even crawl out of water. Â Like I seriously wonder if someone didn't pick it up and put it way outside like that. Â But that doesn't make sense that anyone would do that. Â Amazing stuff. Â What I wouldn't have given to see that fish make that crawl.
That is such a funny mental picture- a man running around the company water fountain with a swim suit and a net, flipping off his office shoes to net a fish on the sidewalk. Â Priceless!
random acts of kindness.....
saving this fish was in your cards for you sir....good job....
it's the little things that someone does for another that counts .....not everyone appreciates these little things that are done for us.....but i'm betting this fish appreciates you very much for saving it's life.... you are it's hero in a sence....cuddo's to you for going out of your way making that extra effort to assure it's happiness in the days to come....
