    questions for the experienced

    well i am going to be off to college soon (hopefully) and am curious if anybody knows of any colleges that have strong marine and freshwater curriculum's?
    Another questions is if i went into a field that utilizes that information learned what is a high paying job that i could aspire to?
    This is open to all opinions and comments are greatly appreciated.

    TAMU - Galveston has a decent marine biology program. Most of the people that I knew that went there worked at Neptune's Garden (a now defunct LFS) ...

      Texas State does. I was supposed to have moved up there last weekend, but decided to stay at UHCL.

        Some of the TAMU studies were relocated after IKE, you need to verify locations for the semesters your interested in.

          Occidental College in California was good many years ago....haven't researched such things in 20 years or so, though.

              texas a&m corpus christi also has a marine biology program goes all the way to phd if you desire   here

                When I was at Jacksonville University in Florida, it had a good Marine Biology program.  I know very little else about it.  JU was a great school!

                One friend works for a utility company studying the environmental impact of the company's projects.

                  Might I suggest out of state, GEORGIA TECH!
                  If you move there for a year and work (get your residency)...and you have a 3.0 or higher AND get accepted the state pays for your school (except books/boarding). Look up "Hope Scolarship" GO JACKETS!I would definitely recommend looking into it!

                  Might I mention you can look into interning at the Georgia Aquarium. Unlike any other place I've seen. Also not too far north from Atlanta there is the Tennessee Aquarium which is really nice too. There are definitely jobs in Atlanta.


                  My sister goes there, if you have any questions let me know. I would also echo the TAMU Galveston as well.
