? about Dovii

i have a 3.75" F1 Parachromis Dovii male.
my ? is, is it normal for a male this small to already start developing a small nuchal hump?
he has started to develop a small but notciable little hump/slope.
i have had dovvi before, but they were always around 5-6" before they had this kinda development.
also he is showing AWESOME COLOR.
he is already starting to show small amounts of the adult purplish tint.
is this all just because of good quality stock?

I have a female about 4.5" and she's already beginning to show her mature markings.  I even thought that she might be a male because she started to get a head bump.  I know that if they are the only one of their kind they can begin to mature quickly.
