That is so funny!  I just love your little puffer.  I want one, too.  But I think Spyke might burst a gasket if I set up another tank- lol.  When I move the Paratilapias in a week or so maybe I can sweet talk him :)

Did we hear "we need a bigger home"  or "honey can you build me a shed outside, it needs to be insulated, with electricity and space enough for your junk... opps stuff to fit inside of it... I need the space in the house for another tank"

  Beaker buries himself too...but only when he's 'tucking himself in' for the night.  I've been home late and so had to feed later than usual, and if Beaker is already 'tucked in' he won't even get up to have dinner.  He's like, 'Oh, forget it.  I'm already in bed...turn out the lights.'

well Ra came out to chase the shrimp....but he gave up about 10pm and buried himself again...and it was lights out for my little buddy at that point......

do you have any recent pics of Beaker?....i bet he's grown alot......

they can be kept in a smaller tank for a short time while they grow some.....but i didn't want to upset Ra anymore than the ride home in a bag....... :( .......so i gave him his very own 55 gallon tank......it's not finished with aquascaping for him yet....but i'm workin on that.....
they are sooooo cool.....and the only advise i can give is research them and prepare yourself for the care they need.....
and water changes religiously....they are messy eaters i can assure you.......but a joy to have.....so Spyke.....get her one and don't make her wait a year like i did....."grab the happy"...........
