  • which filter is better?

I am getting ready to buy my first large canister filter for my 150gallon tank, and was wondering which canister filter is the best? I am definately going to use an Aquaclear 110 filter (I like the sound of the running water), but was trying to decide which canister to go with. I have never REALLY used a canister before, so Im not real sure how to run them. between the Rena xp4, Fluval FX5, and Eheim 2260/2262; which is more reliable, easy to setup and function, easy to clean, best overall filter? I have read up on them, but I would like the OPINIONS of seasoned professionals as well. thx

easy to setup and function? Rena
      easy to clean? Rena
      best overall filter? Eheim

With that said, I have and enjoy my FX5 and would get another if I had another tank.

If you like the noise of water running bump up the HOB to a Wet/dry.... then couple it with a 2260/2262.

With the listed canisters I would go with them in this order.....

        Eheim
        Rena
.... honestly wouldn't even bother but ... Fluval.

I have been running the FX5 for over two years with no problems.  For the money it is a very good filter.

I'm gonna go ahead and vote for the FX5, I had good luck with mine. It's cheaper than a 2262 and has a higher return pump. Plus, I think the black hoses look much nicer than the green ones. Kind of an eye soar IMO

                      I got 2 2262's for half the price of a new FX5.
