  • Glass Lids

I am wondering if anyone has an idea as to where to buy glass lids for a standard 55g?

I currently have the ones that are in two sections and I am always dropping them into the tank. I used to have one that was a single 48" length and I miss it terribly.

Any ideas on who might carry them or any glass shops that might cut appropriate sized glass at a reasonable cost? Prefer South side of town.

    Thanks!

City Pets are about 17.00 per side, or Fishland, about the same.

55g is pretty standard you can probably get them just about anywhere. i think i saw some at petsmart the other day they keep them by the light fixtures.

        Diy

The local Texas City Glass shop on 9th Ave (Palmer) & 9th street cuts all my glass tops.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Measure the space and go locally and have them cut the lids for you.. then get the trim pieces and voila your in business

I've bought glass lids from City Pets and they didn't cost a lot. You can give them a call and they will give you a price over the phone.

If the past is any indication I am probably going to have to get them custom cut as I don't usually see one piece 4' long tops.

I will have to try the Tx City glass shop. DH works in T.C. and could probably be conned into picking it up for me.

              Thanks.
