  • daphnia?

    i think a have some but not sure if its daphnia magna or this other type that i read about. and if it is please tell me how to keep the culture going, thanx

    Uh.... from that view.. it doesn't look like daphnia.
    Looks like some some kind gammarus species...

    Perhaps a pic showing the entire body in one frame would help.

    Daphnia ... feeding greenwater is the easiest way. Otherwise you can substitute with dissolved suspension of activated yeast. Pretty easy to culture, they can grow in anything from 2L bottles to plastic baby pools.

    Gammarus (scuds) will live on any fish food, dead / decaying plants... basically everything that you can find at the bottom of the aquarium. Difficult to get a productive culture going.

      :aua:yep ur right freakin scuds man.well i leave them in a tub with some decaying vegetable matter and cross mt fingers. thanx
