  • congo tetra's in an open top?

i want to get some congo tetras, but i can't figure out if they will jump off my ada 120p, it is a completely open top aquarium and i've had zebra danios and some other fish jump off before

does anyone have experience with congo's in a completely open top tank?

I've had congo tetras and turquoise rainbowfish in an 80g planted tank that was open top for a couple months. Didn't lose any... but ANY fish could jump out of an open top tank. I would say that congo tetras aren't particularly prone to jumping though. Hope that helps.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

You should be good. I've had mine for along time, no problems. Although I just lost a full grown bosemani rainbow

I'm not a fan of open tops. Spooked or excited fish of any species can jump. I always find them after it's too late.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Turning on the light in a dark room will usually spook fish (as well as my kitten clawing at the glass) so It's best to keep a night light on near any open tanks (moon lights)
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
