The lighting output on those are too weak to be used as advertised and the white bulbs would be pretty bright and concentrated for moonlights.

Try and find the Walgreens/CVS LED christmas lights... those were LED and spread out a bit so it would have worked perfectly for moonlighting, much cheaper too.

i was talking about as a full fledgged aquarium light insted of buy a ridiculous PFO thing theere are light systems out there that grow plants

The PFO light uses different types of LEDs from the one you listed.

The PFO LEDs actually put out a decent amount of light that is capable of sustaining plant/coral life while the one you linked to I think would have a hard time growing algae.

Seems for $50 it might be worth a try.

And who's to say you can't add this in addition to the other lighting on the tank already?

I have a friend that bought one for a 7g tank and it could not sustain low light demanding corals.

o i see well im still interested in trying them or seeing for myself cuz there are alot of lights and sites out there that may not be enough for corals but for plants maybe

Corals are similar to plants and from my experience about the same.

If you really want a good LED fixture look into making one yourself. You could make something similar to the PFO using similar LEDs but on a smaller scale for less.

exactly what i was trying to do or somthing similar i just do not know where to find the right type of leds and how to add them to something

You could probably make that thing you linked cheap... bag of leds printed board and some soldering.

The LEDs for the PFO fixture aren't cheap but you pay for the technology.
