FYI: Tylomelania are from Sulewasi and like hard, high pH(8+) water.
The tank looks like it is off to a nice start. Keep the pics coming!
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
I'm no snail expert... I have no idea. It might be something that you'd want to look into though. Aquasoil creates soft, acidic water whereas Tylo. thrive in hard, alkaline water from what I've read. I'd ask the person that you got the snails from... he is quite knowledgable.
On another note... if you want some yellow shrimp, I have some.

Hey DiscusKid,
The snails should do ok with 7.5.
I know they like it alkaline, but 7.5 (slightly alkaline) should be ok. Try not to let it get too much lower. Anything less than 7 an their shells will start to deteriorate.
If this is a new tank, and you are using aquasoil, and you are using houston tapwater, it is possible that your pH has been falling over the past couple of days due to the soil (like armthehomeless suggests). Maybe the snail didn't like the pH swing.
Occasionally you'll have a dead one here and there with seemingly no reason. I say if the rest are doing ok, then there is no need to worry. If you come home and like a bunch of them died overnight, then you may have a problem. If that happens, let me know.
Don't worry about it for now. Just make sure your water parameters are relatively constant.
OH.. and don't worry about the java fern... they will NEVER eat java fern.... then again... not many things will...
Thanks!! Thats a relief, I was thinking since the one that died was a adult it could have had a harder time acclimating compared to a juvenile.
They don't seem to like any of the plants i have in the tank, They tried the java fern and never touched it again. They tried the wisteria too and left it alone for now, the rotala still hasn't been touched but i give it a week...
I will contact him to get this cleared up before i lose anymore...
Man, right when my dad leaves on business trip i find shrimp lol, im not going to have a ride anywhere for atleast 2 weeks
Don't worry about it. The shrimp aren't going anywhere if you want them
