  • Red Cherry Shrimp is now dead and very light blue in color

No idea what happened to this shrimp. He was red cherry yesterday and now he is dead and a very light blue in color.

    Any ideas?

I got this batch from Fish Gallery. Only one died and turned blue. I did a water change yesterday (with dechlor). No feeding changes. All the rest of the shrimp are doing fine. I have never seen a dead RCS before and I figured that blue coloration was a sign of something specific.

If it was a male, they do tend to look more blue or white when they die..just cause they lack the bright color that the females have. how long ago did you buy them/him?

Did you notice any molt in the tank? They molt from stress (move to your tank) or growth, and all shrimp are quite delicate during this time.
