Cool shrimp . . . never had them personally, but there was a time a couple years ago when several LFS got them in . . . so some people in Houston are bound to have experience with them. Only get one male per tank!
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
Well my red claws came today. They are hanging out in a 20 gallon tank that had about 10 ghost shrimp in it. Now there are only five ghost shrimp left. I am working on taking some pictures.
I have been watching them a lot the last few days learning about their behavior. What I though was a big male is actually an adult female. The shrimp i have identified as male are still small. The Three males have all planted there flag in a spot in the tank. It is funny to watch them. It looks like they are showing gang signs to each other then they will fight a little bit then run back to their territory lol.
I am going to keep a close eye on the males when they get to rough with each other I will separate them so they don't kill one another.
These Shrimp are very active especially the females. Always running around searching for food.
The two berried Females haven't dropped the eggs so I’m keeping a close watch on them to see if i can see the eyes in the eggs. I don’t know how long they have been pregnant so no clue when they will hatch.
