My Shrimp Tank

I went to petsmart yesterday and nothing, they didn't know what NLS was and so did i. i end up getting some flakes with nutrients that my Angels ended up liking. i also got them dried blood worms and algae wafers. at first they didn't like touch them, but in the morning they were standing on them eating them. i guess sill just make them small pieces.

i know i have seen NLS somewhere, maybe it was petco instead. i was at two petsmarts yesterday looking for flourite and they didnt hav the NLS either

they i will go and buy it at petco next time. also petco seems to be hiring people that do know more on the area than petsmart.

oh i almost got my self 3 tropheus yesterday. but they were 15 at piece at the petsmart in 45 and 1960. i cant fit those monsters on a 10g.

Petsmart carries fluorite and petco carries NLS. At least that's where I've gotten the two.

Careful with the trophs, if you had problems with that little peacock these guys are not far off.

hehehe, hence why i didn't get them. they were really nice. besides i am getting some from Mandocruz when i get my big tank set up.

Is that red lighting in your tank?

when i took the pic i had the rainbow option on. it has white, blue, green, red LEDs but super weak. so i get the rainbow to have more light.

Most plants, yes.

yeah, but i would not place them on that tank. but any cichlid will tear up any planted tank. thats why you see all the cichlids tanks with only rocks.

not entirely true, i have never noticed dwarf cichlids, angels, or discus doing much nibbling. The labs in my tank now only do so they can play with the piece of the plant. i have seen african ciclids housed with anubias, java ferns and moss, vals, crinum.

True, there are so many different cichlids its hard to point out which will and will not and even then it varies from fish to fish.

I've seen some planted tanks with trophs but plant selection is key.

you are one lucky guy. as my experience in the past, cichlid would bite, pull, destroy all the plants. thats why i have never been into plants. until now with Shrimp. even right now my angles will bite and pull my fake plants.
