  • 20 gallon long sulawesi tank

    So far the tank has been running for about a week or two. I've been using juvenile convicts (cichlids not kids) to cycle the tank.

    Update 2/15 got rid of convicts
    Update 2/18 got 5 cardinals from tim all seem to be doing fine
    Update 2/19 saw my first exoskeleton
    Update 2/24 got 15 more cardinals
    Update 3/20 found 2 berries females
    Update 4/29 spotted babies and 2 more berried females

    Filtration
    Aquaclear 70
    UGF

    Soil
    Aragonite

    Whoa...that's a lot of lava rock!

    You plan on planting on top of it?

        Have you thought about moss? Since the tank isn't set up completely with livestock you could chop up some moss and sprinkle it onto the mounds with the water level dropped below the mounds and allow them to attach for the mean time.

        Just keep the rocks humid by saran wrapping the top and it'll be like a mossy mountain side!

            Moss growing in 80-82 degree water and in 8 ph dont really think so unless it's java moss but that would be a cool idea. The reason I used a ton of rocks is because Cardinal shrimp or from what I read like rocky areas and love to have little hiding places.
