Completely disagreed. Sulawesi shrimps are the most difficult shrimp. Cardinals are one of the easier ones . . . but even at that, getting WC cardinals are quite a challenge. There is a reason not too many people have them after they entered the aquarium trade in the last decade.

I haven't had trouble keeping CBS, CRS, OEBT, BKK, etc . . . but have had difficulties with 6 Banded shrimp, Harlequin Shrimp, and Red Goldflake Shrimp. Of course this is only my opinion, but I'd like to challenge someone to keep some of the lesser seen Sulawesi inverts.

That is two different ball games there.

Some of the higher grade CRS are pretty temperamental when it comes to water quality and trying to juggle that with what we have to start with here is quite a pita. Getting them to survive is one thing and getting them to thrive and prolifically breed is another.

I do agree based on what I have seen and read about the wc sulawesi being sensitive but IMO that probably has a lot to do with the quality once it is here and all it had to go through to get here.

yeah the ordeal they experience getting over here is insane to be abducted from a nice lake with perfect conditions being shipped and crammed with 100s of other shrimp in a small box with tons of ammonia and other shrimp dying to being put into a completely new strange environment.

not yet. but i remember how people say CRS are to difficult and well i have notice hey can be as eeasy or as difficult as you want your species to be. i fallow everyones tips an now i have some crs water params are great and 2 of them have molted with in 4 days of introduction to tthe tank.

yeah when i saw the molt i was like yeah keep them coming. how long should i leave the new filter on the current tank to seed. i want to set the new tank hopefully monday.

My experiance with CRS/CBS has never been maintaining them or molting issues, it has simply been breeding and offspring survivability. The Ph/TDS of the water is what I think contributed to my failure to breed them. I had them in there for months and months, but just never saw any offspring and eventually they were overwhelmed by the might of the cherry shrimp armada...

well this little guys are juvies so i think it will be about 2 months until i see them breeding. i dont know what ratio txsun gave me.

Molting can be for good reasons or bad ones in many crustaceans.

No they arent the pictures on azgarden weren't accurate

I was originally confused by those pictures as well, with all the reviews I read I just gave up on even trying to get some and see if they were. They had some Brazilian shrimp listed as well and thought those would rock in setting up and stocking a small SA biotope type tank.

I've finally seen cardinal babies I believe I've had 2 batches hatch 1 of the babies was 1/2" and the other was 1/4" there are probably many more but it is so hard to spot them
